Anonymous Declares War on ISIS

Summary:
The famous hacker group Anonymous - characterized by their defense of human rights and strong hatred of hypocrisy - has declared war on ISIS after the attacks in Paris which have so far left over one hundred people dead. In a video released on November 16th, a representative of Anonymous stated that “Anonymous everywhere in the world is going to hunt [ISIS] down”. The representative further promised the biggest operation ever mounted against ISIS ever declared by Anonymous, and stated that war had been officially declared. Although the legitimacy of the video has yet to be discovered, the video has all the hallmarks of a typical Anonymous video.

Bias:
This article had very little bias neither saying what Anonymous pledged to do was a good thing nor claiming it was a bad thing, although there was a lack of context concerning what Anonymous has done in the past.

Democratic  values:
COMMON GOOD -
Anonymous is fighting for the common good for all the people in the world. Since ISIS has reached outside its usual boundaries, i.e the Middle East, and attacked Paris, people feel on edge and no longer have the same sense of safety they had. In this way, ISIS is infringing upon the common good of the world and by vowing to attack them, Anonymous is attempting to restore that value.

JUSTICE -
Anonymous has not vowed to treat ISIS in a fair, reasonable manner with due process from legal structures. They are attacking ISIS directly after they did not treat the people of the world in a fair, reasonable manner. Neither party has respected the value of justice, although Anonymous is violating that value in ISIS to restore that value in the rest of the world.

LIBERTY -
By promising an attack on ISIS, Anonymous has promised to protect the liberty of the people. ISIS has oppressed peoples’ rights to behave how they wish, live as they wish, and believe as they wish. Anonymous is righting this wrong by taking that oppressive community down.
