Who? Radical Islamists associated with ISIS.
What? Six locations in or around Paris, France were attacked by terrorists carrying AK-47s or bombs. At least 129 people were killed and 352 were injured. 89 were killed and at least 100 taken hostage at a concert hall. Two of the attacks occurred outside a stadium during a soccer game between France and Germany. The president of France was in the stadium at the time. Eight extremists have been proclaimed dead, with seven of these deaths resulting from suicide bombings. Earlier that night, a U.S. airstrike had just presumably killed the leader of a branch of ISIS in Libya.
Where? Paris, France
When? November 13, 2015
Why? ISIS was protesting the west: U.S, Britain, and France had decided to continue the bombings on ISIS in Syria. Also, France had declared recently that it would assist in the fight against ISIS in Iraq.
Democratic Values:
Liberty-
In countries where ISIS has control, the right to live peacefully and practice any religion is being severely threatened. ISIS has made it clear what will happen to any person who dares to openly oppose them.
Common Good-
Obviously, the issue of the common good (general safety and security) is being challenged. ISIS was able to coordinate several attacks in different locations, causing mass panic and fear as people wonder where they will strike next. National security is of the utmost importance in battling ISIS.
Bias
Mostly, this article cites facts and quotes. However, we did find some evidence of bias. At first, no one claimed responsibility for the attacks and yet the news articles leaned towards Islam extremists as the aggressors. However, they turned out to be right. ISIS later did claim responsibility.
