Russian Plane Crash

Russian Plane Crash

Who: All the passengers aboard Metrojet flight 9268 (224 people)
What: A Russian passenger jet. It was going from the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh (This is on the gulf of Aqaba about 5 hours drive from Cairo - On the east side of the red sea). A bomb inside the plane supposedly blew up in mid air causing the crash. ISIS is claiming responsibility for this act of terror.
Where: The plane crashed in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula.
When: October 31st, 2015
Why: The U.S. intelligence and the British Foreign Minister Philip Hammond believe that the evidence suggests than an ISIS or another terrorist organization had a hand in the bombing of this metrojet plane. It is suspected that ISIS planted the bomb. The authorities who are trying to find out what happened are still unable to confirm. The airport is known for its relaxed security and unreliable x ray machines. There is some suspicion that someone in the airport assisted in the placing of the bomb in the plane.
Democratic Values:

Common Good: When I read this statement: “Intelligence also suggests someone at the Sharm el-Sheikh airport helped get a bomb onto the plane.” I thought it showed Common good being compromised. When the person at the Sharm el-Sheikh airport helped get the bomb onto the plane compromised general safety, security, and welfare of the people on that plane. Since someone was able to get past the airport security, work with ISIS (who is claiming the responsibility of the terrorist attack) and get a bomb on a plane that killed all of the passengers, this may cause people to lose trust with airport security. This will make people think twice about whether or not airports have the common good of safety of all the people in their best interests.

Justice was also shown in this article because the ISIS or another terrorist need to be brought to justice. Many people’s lives were lost that day. The terrorists have taken many lives, not only in this plane crash but in other attacks. The terrorists did not care about the people’s lives on the plane and they should be brought to Justice.

There was very little bias in this article because there was a lot of facts. There were a lot of quotes and other information that was pieced together. There were statements by both Britain and Egypt. There were reports from differing countries. The authors did not appear to have any one sided opinions or sympathy for either side.
