For War-Weary Afghanistan, Earthquake Is Just One More Serving of Misery

Who: People of Afghanistan in the midst of the conflict between the Taliban and the government

What: Earthquake adds to the misery that Afghans are already facing. Taliban are taking their food whilst they are already in the middle of war-torn country. There is difficulty reaching the victims of the earthquake in the middle of this civil disagreement due to laws and Taliban control.

Where: East and Northeastern provinces of Afghanistan, parts of Pakistan

Why: Earthquake adds to conflict and difficulty of the time. Taliban have been waging offensives against the government forces and militia. They are militants loyal to Islamic state only and have no qualms using brutality to gain foothold.
