Bias statement:
I think this article was slightly biased. It stated the facts about the attacks, but it didn’t really say much about why ISIS attacked in Paris. Also, most of the quotes that were chosen for the article, especially the ones by President Hollande, were very strongly against ISIS. I think think this article was made to inform and draw awareness to ISIS’ increasing number of attacks. The authors seemed to have a lot of sympathy for the French.
Democratic Values:
Common good:
Common good was a value in this article because the entire country’s safety was compromised during the attacks. Also, airport security in France has had to be hugely increased and even the United States has increased security measures. Even now, the FBI is going over possible connections to ISIS or threats in the United States. It is the people’s right to feel safe in their country and this was greatly affected by the ISIS attacks.
Justice:
Justice was shown in this article in that ISIS needs to be brought to justice for what they did and the pain that they caused in Paris. 129 people were killed and the entire country and the world was greatly affected by the attacks.
